When Anita (Rita Moreno) becomes frustrated with Bernardo (George Chakiris) for how he is treating his younger sister, Maria (Natalie Wood), they start to argue. Anita is upset that he is not acclimating to the ways of America, so she pours out her frustrations in the form of a musical number from the brilliant minds of Stephen Sondheim and Leonard Bernstein.
