Bixby Evolves into an AI Agent / KT and Samsung Successfully Verify 6G…
Samsung Launches Beta Program for the Evolved ‘Bixby’
Samsung Electronics announced on the 20th that it has begun operating a beta program for the evolved “Bixby,” now enhanced into a powerful device agent, starting on the 19th. The update is being rolled out sequentially to Galaxy S25 series users participating in the One UI 8.5 Beta Program and is currently available in six countries, including Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
The enhanced Bixby understands users’ intentions based on natural language, controls devices, and provides personalized solutions. For example, when a user says, “I don’t want the screen to turn off while I’m looking at my phone,” it immediately activates the relevant setting. If a user says, “My ringtone isn’t sounding,” it analyzes the current device status and suggests disabling Do Not Disturb mode. It also enables real-time web searches for information.
Choi Won-joon, COO of Samsung Electronics’ MX Division, stated that Bixby has evolved beyond Galaxy smartphones into an intuitive device agent encompassing the broader ecosystem, including Samsung TVs and home appliances, and will further expand cross-device connectivity experiences.
KT and Samsung Successfully Verify Ultra-High-Density Multi-Antenna Performance for 6G
KT Corporation and Samsung Electronics announced on the 20th that they have successfully completed verification of jointly developed 7GHz ultra-high-density multi-antenna technology. The verification was conducted in the 7GHz band, one of the key frequencies for 6G, achieving approximately four times higher integration density compared to existing 5G 64TRx equipment.
In a high-capacity transmission test, the companies achieved a download speed of 3.0Gbps. By simultaneously transmitting eight data streams from the base station to the device, they secured industry-leading data processing capacity. The verification was conducted using Keysight’s test 6G device.
The two companies expect this technology to become a key enabler for 6G-era services such as XR, metaverse, holograms, and AI applications. They plan to continue strategic cooperation, including research on uplink coverage enhancement, AI-RAN, and standardization efforts.
