Video from the area of the village of Berhovka located on the north-western outskirts of Bakhmut shows that the area remains in the hands of Russian forces. An attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area was repelled.
Earlier, on June 5, the head of the Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin stated that Kyiv units entered the western outskirts of the village and fighting was ongoing there. Pro-Kyiv sources rushed to claim that the village was fully in the hands of Kyiv’s forces.
The statement of Prigozhin followed reports that Wagner fighters started to hand over their positions in Bakhmut to regular Russian troops.
As of June 6, it seems that the attack on the village was repelled and pro-Kyiv troops retreated from the area. Other attacks on Kyiv’s forces in the area of Bakhmut have also been contained as of now.

The units of the Yug Group of Forces have thwarted an attempt to rotate servicemen at the forward positions of the 81st AFU Airmobile Brigade close to Belogorovka and the 54th AFU Mechanised Brigade close to Zolotaryovka.
The enemy also suffered significant losses in manpower and hardware as a result of a failed attempt to conduct reconnaissance in the area of Yakovlevka (Donetsk People’s Republic).
Special forces of the Southern Military District identified enemy targets in Avdeevka direction, the coordinates of which have been transmitted to artillery units of the 8th Combined-Arms Army. As a result, three groups of infantry, a trench and a pickup truck of Ukrainian troops were destroyed.
2S19 Msta-S self-propelled artillery gun of the Motorised Rifle Division destroyed a command post of a battalion of the AFU 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade near Paraskoviyevka.
