Several days ago, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) launched an assault on the Russian military positions on the eastern bank of the Dnieper River. The attack took place in the area of the village of Cossak Laheri. LINK As a result of the fighting, Ukrainian forces failed to repel the Russian military from the village. However, it turned out that they had gained another foothold on the Russian bank of the river.
On August 13, the AFU are holding a bridgehead to the south of the village of Cossac Laheri. Ukrainian boats are transfering reinforcements to the area and evacuate their killed and wounded servicemen. According to the reports from the front, the 126th Brigade of the AFU is operating in the area under heavy Russian artillery fire. However, their forces are not enough to expand the zone of their control and take control of the village.
The main goal of the AFU is to take control of the road leading to the Antonovsky Bridge, where the Ukrainian military is also holding a bridgehead.
On August 8th, the following video was shared following the clashes in the area of Cossac Laheri. It reportedly showed Ukrainian servicemen captured during the battles. The video was allegedly filmed by the commander of the Russian 1822nd battalion. However, the authenticity of the video was largely questioned since there were no faces of Ukrainian servicemen seen.
In fact, the Russian commander and several servicemen took the fight and disappeared on August 8th.
On August 13, the truth was revealed. Ukrainian sources shared new footage showing Russian commander in Ukrainian captivity. It turned out that the video was staged and widely spread by Ukrainian propaganda.

Another video showed other Russian servicemen of the same unit, claiming that they were mobilised in the Moscow region but allegedly they did not receive the necessary training. On the battlefield, they allegedly did not receive any support, no food, no water.
The videos were reportedly filmed in the same period.
The captured Russian servicemen were used to discredit the Russian military in another Ukrainian media operation. Thid operation allowed to hide the truth from the battlefield and gain some time to strengthen their positions on the eastern bank of the Dnieper.
