Rare Footage: Russian Lancet Remotely Destroying Target With Cumulativ…
Rare footage shows the remote exploding of the warhead of the Russian Lancet barrage ammunition on approach to its target, which is hit by a cumulative jet.
In spring 2023, before the Ukrainian counter-offensive began, Russian sources close to the military reported that up to 45% of towed howitzers and self-propelled artillery units manufactured by NATO countries that were destroyed in Ukraine, were hit by Lancet UAVs.
Usual targets for the Lancet are enemy command and observation posts, enemy manpower, as well as howitzers, air defense systems, radar stations, MLRS etc, that are hit at a range of up to several tens of kilometers. Depending on the type of target, the drone carries a combat load weighing up to 3 or 5 kilograms. There can be three types of them, including high-explosive, cumulative or thermobaric loads.
Ukrainian servicemen attempt to hide their heavy equipment on the frontlines, covering it with a metal mesh, which is senseless. Lancet’s fuse is triggered a few meters before the target, and burns it down with a cumulative jet.
