Turkish defence manufacturer Savronik unveiled the latest iteration of its High-speed Software-Defined Radio (SDR) at the DIMDEX 2024 show held in Doha from 4 to 6 March.

The latest SDR supports twice the data rate of its predecessor – from 137 Mbps to 274 Mbps – as well as the latest custom waveforms and encrypted solutions, depending on user requirements. The name of the radio remains the same despite the upgrades.

Savronik's high-speed SDR is a multi-purpose transceiver designed for both manned and unmanned aerial intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) platforms. Operating within the L/S/C band frequencies (1–6 GHz) and Ku-band range (14–16 GHz), it facilitates real-time ISR data transmission from aircraft to a Ground Data Terminal (GDT). The radio incorporates advanced encryption methods such as Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) and Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) to evade jamming and signal interference and is also compliant with the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256 encryption algorithm and NATO Standardisation Agreement (STANAG)-7085, ensuring interoperability with NATO systems.

The high-speed SDR can also be configured to support satellite communications as well as for link management and the control of satellite antennas.
